At Paws on Chicon, we are constantly searching for new food products that meet our nutritional philosophy while making our furry friends excited for dinnertime. Visit us with your pet and we will make the best recommendations of real and wholesome foods with the freshest, high quality ingredients available.
Most commercial pet foods contain animal by-products, cornmeal, corn gluten meal, wheat gluten and soybean, and artifical dyes. These are inexpensive fillers used as a meat alternative protein and are difficult to digest, often lead to allergies causing skin and other irritations which may lead to costly vet visits and medications. Additionally, many reports say that 52% of dogs and cats in the U.S. are obese. Overweight dogs and cats are at a higher risk of osteoarthritis and other orthopedic diseases as well as diabetes, respiratory disorders, and hypertension.
Paws on Chicon has a wide selection of premium, wholesome foods and treats do not contain any animal by-products, corn, wheat, or soy. Ingredients in the foods and treats we carry must supply necessary nutrients, each protein source must be identified and labeled (such as chicken, beef, or turkey). We never carry products that have imported ingredients from China. We strive to support other small, local Austin businesses and many of the products we carry are made right here in Austin.
